COVID and Flu Clinic Update

October 2, 2023

Hello NAP Families

We have been getting a lot of interest in scheduling COVID and flu vaccines for your children and wanted to give you a few updates.

Like most vaccine providers in our area, there has been a delay of shipping the updated COVID booster to the office due to supply issues. NAP is currently receiving very limited shipments of the COVID vaccine but we are hoping this will get better in the coming weeks. Unfortunately there is no way to know how much of each COVID formulation we will receive as this is determined by the state.

We are in the final stages of our clinic planning. We will be opening our MyChart scheduling for these clinics on October 5th at 6:00 pm. Please watch for a portal message and email blast notifying you when clinics are open to book. Due to the supply issues, we will likely need to limit our clinics to the younger age groups who cannot get their vaccines at pharmacies or other community sites. We will send more information about what this will look like on October 5th. If your child is in the office for a routine visit, we will have COVID and flu vaccines available to all ages.

If your child is eligible to receive a vaccine at another site, we encourage you to do so. As of now, CVS has a robust supply of all COVID 19 vaccine formulations as well as the flu vaccine. Most pharmacies offer vaccines to children 3 years of age and older. Big Y is hosting vaccine events at their stores for people age 5 and older. Those who participate will get valuable coupons to save on groceries.

You can find other vaccine locations at www.vaccines.gov. The city of Northampton is also offering vaccines throughout the community for children 2 years and up. You can view these clinics and schedule an appointment here.

Stay healthy and enjoy the beautiful fall weather this week!
